📋 Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account Information: When you create an account using Sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple-provided user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address and/or name.
• Profile Information: Any profile details you choose to add, such as your display name or profile photo.
• Goals and Preferences: Your daily step goals, focus session preferences, and app settings.

Information Collected Automatically

• Health Data: With your explicit permission, we read step count and related activity metrics from Apple HealthKit (iOS) or Health Connect (Android). On iOS, if you enable it, we may also write mindful session entries to HealthKit when you complete a mindfulness focus session.
• Location Data: With your permission, we collect location data for nature location check-ins. Location data is processed locally.
• App Usage Data: Information about which apps/categories you choose to block and your focus session history. We do not see the content inside your apps.
• Device & Diagnostic Information: Device type, OS version, app version, and crash/diagnostic data used to troubleshoot reliability issues.
• Push Notification Token: If you enable notifications, we may store a device push token (FCM/APNs) to deliver reminders and social notifications.

• Provide Core Features: Track progress, manage app blocking, run focus sessions
• Calculate Focus Score: Aggregate daily activities into a wellness score
• Enable Social Features: Challenges, leaderboards, friend connections
• Send Notifications: Deliver reminders about goals, streaks, achievements, and social activity
• Improve the App: Diagnose crashes and performance issues to enhance reliability
• Process Payments: Handle subscriptions via App Store / Play Store

👶 Children's Privacy

FocusMate is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

🌍 International Users

Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

For European Users (GDPR)

You have additional rights: access, rectification, erasure, restrict processing, data portability, and objection. Contact support@focusmateapp.com to exercise these rights.

For California Users (CCPA)

You have the right to know, delete, opt-out of sale (we don't sell data), and non-discrimination.

📅 Data Retention

• Account & Social Data (cloud): Retained until you delete your account
• On-device activity data: Stored on your device and retained until you delete it (e.g., by deleting the app or clearing data)
• Deleted Accounts: We delete your cloud account data when you request account deletion (some security logs or backups may persist for a limited time as required by the provider)

📝 Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We will notify you by posting updates in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date.
